A cheeky adolescent with a buzz cut was the chosen face for Palace’s Spring/Summer 16 campaign. The face, known as skater Blondey McCoy was shot by photographer Angelo Pennetta. This is the cult skatewear label’s second drop for Spring 2016, the first released in February which attracted massive mania, much to no one’s surprise. Staring intriguingly in front of a simple backdrop, McCoy was styled in palettes of primary colors and pastels. While the first half of the spring Palace gear seemed to have a more contemporary touch, this half saw the muse sporting conscious pieces that emphasized a vintage vibe over modern. Favorites included a rainbow-stripped t shirt with a black collar, the matching baby blue track suit, and the soon-to-be iconic long-sleeved black and white pullover with the words “Putting the E in Palace” adorning the back.
The anticipated collection is set to drop exclusively at the Palace store on Brewer St. at 11 am on April 9th. Skater kids rejoice! (And those of us who happen to not be in the New York area do not fret, the collection will be released online on April 14th at the Palace website.)
