Designer A. JOHNSON Speaks On Raf, Virgil and His New A/W 16 Collection “Natural Tones”

A. JOHNSON
“The way (Yves Saint Laurent) transitions masculine vibes into feminine pieces is crazy. I’m kind of the same mentality.” says Johnson about one of his biggest inspirations, Yves Saint Laurent.

Designer A. Johnson has been designing for his luxury streetwear brand Demode Clothing for only 3 years and it’s obvious he is killing the game. The young creative is known for his minimalistic style and simply dope aesthetic. As for inspirations? Look at his work — what do you see? Variations of Kanye West, Virgil Abloh, Yves Saint Laurent and Raf Simons, right? Johnson grabs inspiration from only the best in the industry and implements it into his work. This young entrepreneur went from sketching out graphic tees in his room to designing, manufacturing and then selling high quality clothing on a worldwide scale through his own company in a matter of three years. Take notes, kids.

As of upcoming releases, Johnson is set to release his latest collection entitled “Natural Tones” for the Spring of 2015. The elegantly casual collection’s lookbook was unveiled via Flipsnack this past weekend. Although the collection may speak for itself, Johnson’s vision compliments it even further.

“This collection means a lot to me,” explains Johnson, “The vision for this (collection) was the caveman society mixed with what’s going on in the world today. We are no different than they are, we are just more organized.”
